When you ask most longtime Avondale residents about their memories growing up in Avondale, many of them will inevitably mention Billy Moore Days – a tradition. named after Avondale’s founder, and celebrated for more than five decades in Avondale. This year’s event has transitioned into a virtual event.

An evening filled with food and fun! Register your team today! There will also be raffles and a silent auction. Net proceeds benefit Jerry’s Charities, a selection of non-profits with a footprint in Glendale.

Avondale Championship Open / Avondale Cup
Golf Tournament benefiting the Boys & Girls Club
This great day of golf and goodwill benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley’s Tri-City West/Thornwood Branch. Avondale Mayor Ken Weise, community leaders, elected officials and this year, NASCAR race-enthusiasts, meet to celebrate a NASCAR championship week and support a great cause for the youth in the West Valley. The Club serves 1,200 kids from Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Tolleson. To date, the tournament has raised more than $235,000 to support positive programming for kids in the West Valley to learn, grow, and become responsible citizens.

Avondale Veterans Day Ceremony, Fun Run & Hero’s Breakfast
Help us honor our Veterans and their families with a Fitness Challenge and Hero’s Breakfast at Estrella Mountain Community College. All run proceeds will directly support Veterans Increasing Persistence Program (VIPP). This program is designed to assist veterans in financial situations that may prevent them from going to school or completing a degree. The day will kick off with a Fun Run at 8:30 am, Hero’s Breakfast at 9:00 am and Ceremony at 9:30. Hero’s Breakfast is Free to all Veterans, their families and all race participants. This event is hosted by the City of Avondale and Estrella Mountain Community College Veterans Center.

This unique festival focuses on the rich diversity of wildlife, habitat, history and culture of the Gila River drainage area. Highlights include: kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, and hiking. The Festival also showcases up close encounters with wildlife, live entertainment, food and much more all in the great outdoors. Proceeds benefit Wildlife for Tomorrow! Hosted by the City of Avondale, City of Goodyear and Arizona Game & Fish
