Hometown Christmas Parade was started in 2013 by Mayor of Glendale, Jerry Weiers and a group of citizens who wanted to celebrate the True Star of Christmas. The event has grown to be one of the largest parades in Arizona with over 130 parade entries and more than 2400 people marching in the parade.
As part of the celebration, the event collects food donations for Hope for Hunger food bank. In addition, proceeds from the event benefit the charity. Last year the event raised more than $11,000 and 9,500 pounds of food. The parade is held along a one-mile stretch down Glendale Avenue finishing in historic downtown Glendale.
Goosebump coordinated all event logistics and sponsorship sales for the event every year since it’s inception.
